The Kensington Moase Plumbing and Heating Vipers will host the Sherwood Falcons this Sunday night at Community Gardens in Kensington. the IJHL game gets underway at 7pm.
The four-time defending IJHL champion and defending Don Johnson Cup champion Vipers will have a new look team this season after graduating five players and promoting three to Jr A with the Summerside Western Capitals. They will also be without Drew Coulson (exchange trip until New Years) and Brett Hogan (UPEI Soccer) meaning a new look team to start the season.
Some newcomers to the team are rookies from the Mid-Isle Matrix Ryan Murray (defence) and Spencer McAllister (forward) . The Vipers have also added Josh Bowman (forward) who played with the Bridgewater Lumberjacks of the MHL last season and Dylan McQuaid who split time between the Summerside Western Capitals and Holland College Hurricanes last season. McQuaid gives the Vipers arguably one of the top 3 goalies in the league and he will be counted on to keep the Vipers in games in the early part of the season.
The Vipers drew very well last season and hope to keep that support going this season. Ticket prices remain the same and season passes will be on sale as well.
