The Hurricanes have struggled as of late, losing their last six games as they sit in fourth with a 3-8-2 record lead the Red Wings (3-7-1) by a single point in the standings. The season series between the two teams is tied 1-1. Head coach Ryan Maxwell is looking to get back into the win column; "After coming off a tough loss to Kensington we are looking to bounce back and have a good game against the Red Wings. They are a talented team and we will need to have our best effort. Consistency has been an issue so far this season but when we play a full sixty minutes we are a really tough team to beat. We will continue to work hard and be ready to go in Slemon Park on Saturday". Rookie forward Curtis Martell has had a strong start to the season since being traded to the Hurricanes from the Montague Maniacs. The first year Sport & Leisure Management student from Belfast has 14 points through 13 games and sits in fifth in rookie scoring in the IJHL. "We're looking forward to the game; it's a chance to bounce back in the win column".
